Famous motorcycle roads in USA

Pretty sure he's going to regret riding across there. He's got a shot back from a work accident and has never done a trip like this although he's had a Harley for years. He's heading over to the East for a get-together with other members of a this HD/1%er wannabes Forum he belongs to. Catherine reckons he's 'romanticised' the reality of such a big trip. I tried to talk him into hiring a Sat. phone but he wouldn't be in it. See how he goes I guess :rolleyes:.

If he falls asleep and goes off the road no one will see him in that grass. Put a sat. tracker on his bike.

We're concerned that's for sure .. something goes adrift out there and you could be in serious trouble. No way known i'd ride it alone .. Older and wiser nowadays you see :cool:

Hope he takes plenty of water and some snacks in case he get stuck for a while. Unless things have changed there ain't much out there. Never been across the plain on a bike, but went across in a car...boring as hell and some **** big trucks that seem to come out of nowhere

Plenty of really sprightly wildlife as well .. like driving through a 3,000klm long zoo ... pricks of things darting out in front of you. Ute with a big f#ckin bullbar way to go !!!!

Catherine's brother just rang .. he's made it across the Nullarbor, his backs held out (going to have to get a job now :D ) .. reckons the rides been awesome. Harley's not missed a beat .. goes to show just how much I know. He's meeting up with the rest of the pack tomorrow and heading North ;)

Famous Roads

I can hardly wait to seek out the 'famous roads" east of the Miss.

Years ago I was sucking a brew in a small outta the way town pub with with a local oldtimer (about my current age) that kinda looked like TC.:D

I was riding sport bike back then and inquiring of the gent about where one might find some "real twisties".

The bearded, sun beaten wrinkled gent told me of a road called California 36 that runs between Fortuna and Red Bluff. I reiterated to him that I really wanted "real twisties", not just those minor curvy roads that old geezers find uncomfortable to drive a car on. :eek:

What the old gent said to me . . .
"Son, ride THIS road! You will run your battery dead just trying to stop for your own **** taillight!"

I have never forgotten that wise ol' gent or what he said to me.
THAT'S A FAMOUS ROAD !!!
:roll::roll::roll::bch:
