Seems strange ta me, that so many others have made ,& been praised, for this type of change to their bikes, this one is attracting negative remarks
I thought how good they looked----------------Having said that some kind of foam filters would need to go inside the shrouds. I presume.
I don't think I can justify forking out that kind of money tho'.---- some-one ,may like / afford it..
As I always say------- To each his own EH ?.

Mine cost me $50 it is not a feature but it doesn't look bad ever and unlike putting the orig' one in the airbox can't fall over and empty itself .... need I say more
 
I like the neatly tucked away coolant recovery tank on the Touring , I just use a small light with a flexible arm to check coolant level, and my neatly tucked away stock air box works for me as well ,if its not broken don't fix it ,
My last 5 bikes (all bought brand new) have remained relatively stock and never missed a beat .
 
yeah I would have left it where it was (it was there in original spot when I had the K&N 2780's) except my my "small K&N -RX4040-1" air cleaners forced me to move it
 
Hanso I think your set up with the K&Ns with the K&N strap across the top and Coolant Recovery bottle ,exhaust Ect go with the Style you have created with your bike and look like a seriously powerful machine ,I don't think Touring's are visually suited to that look ,I just like the laid back mile eater style of a stock touring
 
I wasn't saying they can't look good - some do (Hanso's does). Just offering the suggestion that you don't have to spend money on a metal one as it's so easy to tuck the plastic one out of sight. I couldn't really care what anyone wants to spend their money on. If having a shiny metal radiator overflow tank is the look you're after, go for it. I'm sure you could buy chrome plated sump plugs too.
 
thats a great idea (chrome plated sump plugs)
so when my bike falls over again the plugs will be shinny for everyone to see.
 
I would not give up my tool kit space created by the old filter box for overflow storage.
Just sayin' . . .
