Sorry if this has been done before...did a search and nothing came up.
How do you all rate the overall build quality of the rocket...scale of 1/10.
Thanks guys.

Good points?

I just bought one. I have heard timing sprocket, clutch plates, head gaskets, bad chrome, poor ignition. Yes please tell me something nice. I really like my bike and the 600 miles we have spent together, I chose it over a Harley firefighter edition, because I wanted to go my own way and not follow the crowd. I love this site, I have got alot of ideas from it. so far my bike is a 8.5 for performance, a 9.0 for good looks, a 8.5 for quality and in 600 miles a 10.0 for reliability, LOL, well it is - what it is and I like it. I can't wait to see what gets posted here. I am hoping more good points than bad. I read somewhere over-all maintenance cost is still less than a comparable Heritage soft tail. Not sure on the rice burners.

I have a 2007 Classic Tourer with a little over 20,000 miles, I have had it about 2 1/2 years and so far the only money I have spent is on maintenance approx 1100.00 a year.

First service @ 600 mile was included in the purchase.

The 10000 and 20000 mile service was around 500.00 each total = 1000.00

I have put 3 sets of tires on and I always replace brakes with tires (personnel preference) about 600.00 each for brakes and tires. Total 1800.00

Replaces the battery @ about 15,000 miles cost was $80.00

The only other money I have spent is for Gas, cleaning supplies and the countless accessories that I added.

Bike still runs as good as the day I bought it.

I have an early (manufacture date July 2004) with just over 50,000 miles on it. I have had no mechanical issues at all. The only issues I've had outside of routine maintenance is having the primary Throttle Position Sensor replaced and I also had to tighten the head stock bearing to specs at 12,000 miles. Oh, and I had to the brake/tail light bulb.. :)

I will agree that the chrome/paint is not on par with Harley, but then, no one beats Harley in these areas. These areas are on par with most of the Jap 4 though.. I remedied the paint part.. :) I also have the early clear coated wheels, which mine have held up better than most, but I wish I had the polished wheels that came out later..

My Rocket has been a great bike and I have no reason to believe it will not easily give me another 50,000 miles or more..

I've had mine since November, 2004. I've had no problems with it and get compliments routinely - including from HD riders.

If you have a problem with the timing, get Tuneboy and reset it, s'il vous plate.

2005 Rocket with over 40000miles only problem has been a loose wire on the ignition switch(which did not stop me from riding) even though the bike was 2.5years out of warranty Triumph stepped up to the plate and gave me a complete switch assembly free of charge.
This has been the most reliable bike that I have ever owned and I would not hesitate for one second to buy another.:D
