2007 Triumph Rocket Classic cooling fan relay part # & interchangeability

Is it now working well?

First, got hold of a used one, fan works. QUESTIONS: I'm not an electrician, so correct me where I am wrong here. The original 4 pin (manufactured by Hella) had a diode that restricts the current to one direction, that protected the ECU? The GEBE has a resistor to protect the ECU, BUT, a diode protected relay is better? The only 4 pin 12V 30A relays with a diode I have seen have a replaceable 30A fuse? The updated Triumph relay has a different pin configuration than the original?
Thank you everybody.

Yeah you got it. The non diode will work OK for now but I'd always recommend replacing like for like.
Strangely the new Triumph relay (smaller one) doesn't look like it has a diode...

The new Triumph relay (smaller, more rectangular one) is a micro relay, Triumph started using them in the Rockets in March 2013 AFAIK, but it's not a replacement for your original one. They should still supply the older relays for the older bikes.
04 to 13 bikes have relay sockets for the big square ones and 13 onward have the smaller sockets for micro relays.

The diode elimina
notes the voltage spike and the resistor would lower it i think.
Chrysler vehicles on a lot of their ecu's'electronic control units pcm's power control modules tcm's transmission control modules do not use the diode but monitor the voltage spike (guessing about 40 or 50 volts) to check the circuits reliability and if it fails the ecu ect will set a code and will not ground the circuit.
Now we see a lot more of the cry ecu's ect fail then any other.
I have also noticed that on some of the vehicles are wired differently so by installing a diode may cause a problem
So as R-III-R has said replace with the same type of relay.
The brands probably do not matter that much but the ratings like 20 or 40 amps might make difference.

Question: So, the 13+ product years have the newer relay without the ECU protecting diode built into the relay. What do they do for ECU protection? Thank you for all the info. Appreciate it. I Learned something here.
