Anyone have any ideas. Bike stopped working after being in storage for a while. I got a cable and installed tune ecu. The error code was 2nd throttle position sensor, so I ordered one and installed it. Code still indicating an error. Tried restarting program several times, yet still coming up with same error code. What am I doing wrong? Does the bikes ecu hold this error code somehow? If so, how do I clear it?

9/7/13 Well thanks for trying. I finally figured it out. The problem was with the fuel pressure regulator it had a bad diaphragm not allowing the correct fuel pressure to be introduced to the injectors cheep part changed it out and now all is good again.

On a stored bike of this age a good chance there is some corrosion in the multi connectors under the Tank etc.
I would systematically go thru' all connector and clean with CRC Electrical cleaner and re treat with Dielectric grease.

The ECU operates on low voltages so a bad connection can give faulse readings sometimes.

NB make sure you are plugged in to mains voltage on the PC and use a mains connected battery tender during TuneECU opperation.

I am not up on tune ecu as I use tune boy but like tune boy there should be a way to clear the error code.

When you changed the secondary TPS did you set it to the right volts .60 +- .02 volts. and when you did thei did you insure the secondary plates were closed before setting the voltage. Also did you do a full ISCV reset to sync both TPS units with the stepper motor?

Correctly, the procedure is described in the instructions for TuneECU as follows.

Clear fault codes
<Menu> ECU Erase Error Codes
In "Diagnostics" or "Tests" mode, this will erase stored error codes and messages in the ECU. If the faults that caused these error codes were not rectified (eg. faulty sensor) then the error codes will again be re-generated and stored in the ECU.
