Okay, so I've decided on used R3 Touring model and if all goes well I should be getting one in a couple of weeks (Yeeehaaa...chomping at the bit!!!). Before I go all in and do this... I have a question about the exhaust sound.
Of all the downside features of the R3 (Touring or otherwise) for...
Looking to go into this direction - think I'll be running into problems with a custom setup?
North Jersey Customs
That's the only shop around here that seems appropriate for that kind of work....
Let me know what you guys think - I would really like to get into header work and a new exhaust -...
I've seen many different mods for the R3's......3 into 2 etc.etc.
Has anyone seen a 3 into 4 mod?? Could be an interesting sound especially with a cat eliminator!
For the non-R3R owners, pics often look like the stock exhaust has a big gaping maw:
In actuality there is a plastic end-cap there occupying a large portion of that area.
Has anyone pulled that off to see what's up under there? I'm curious as I would prefer a huge dark hole. But yanking it...
Howdi all, I'm hearing different stories related to the after market exhausts - some say you must have a remap, others say you don't - obviously the official line from the dealers is that you do need a remap, but does anyone know if the engine management system compensates for the difference if...
Finally took a few shots of my Roadster:
I also took some shots of the exhaust, as it is one of the primary changes for the Roadster. I thought people might be interested in having a peek at what Triumph did under there .. you know, so we can all decide what would have been better. :)...
Hey Captains,
Sam "Travel Guy" has offered the possibility that he will make another run of his world famous Predator pipes; if he can get a minimum of seven Captains to commit to purchasing them. I want a set, and there's reportedly two other Captains whom want a set as well.
So we...
I just ordered the D@D exhaust kit for $525, but I forgot to ask if I needed to reflash my ECU. It doesnt say anything on the website so I'm assuming it's a small enough change it is not required.
I have a couple months to decide which exhaust to purchase for my new Roadster. I just need some help narrowing it down to one. I've already eliminated a few systems. I cannot get the TOR's they are only for the non-Roadster. The Preds are hard to come by, though they look and sound great. D&D...
Anybody running these and know anything about them. Look pretty good with the 3 into 2's and new headers pipes. Wanting to upgrade and can't get any answers on the preds.
Thanks in advance
Who is using this system? conplete header set.
Looking to put a set on my Roadster. Are they hotter than the stock setup?
Any info would be helpfull here.
Thanks in advance
Howdy all,
I've bypassed the cat and I've got a spare set of standard pipes that I wanna drill to beef up the rumble - not too much but just a bit of extra growl ;)
Does anyone have any definitive advice about doing this. Is it better to drill the end pipe or the baffle - if its the end...
I finally took the time last night to remove the Jardines and re-pack them. I had felt that they had been getting louder over the last 3 or 4 k miles. Boys was I surprised at what I found.
Last fall I added some chrome exhaust tips to extend the muffler from out under the Corbin Bags. I had...
Shorty Performance Exhaust Cutom Map & Dyno Results
One of my projects before prime riding weather gets here was to get new exhausts on both of my bikes. I finished last week with my Speed Triple and then this past weekend I finished my Rocket.
The shorty exhaust on my Rocket was a little...
Hello all, with 1 year left on my warranty, I'm getting itchy for upgrades. I've been looking at the Thunderbike exhaust, 3-3. I like the look and Kevin in parts says you don't need to re-map, that it's plug and play. Anyone have these pipes or knowledge of these pipes? I've searched the threads...
Started the bike for the first time in 2010 because I need to get her down to the shop for fitment of a Barnett clutch. Thought I'd take the opportunity to annoy the neighbours a little (just one tiny blip) and let you guys hear another exhaust. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. The end...
Well, after battling the header/exhaust connection on my Jardines for pretty much since I've had them, I decided to solve it for good this weekend. I broke out my wire welder and welded the joint solid. The entire right side is one piece now, but still is easily removable. I left the left...
I am looking to see if anyone else has this Shorty exhaust? I just received mine and would like to know how anyone else who has it has it set up? I know the details for the exhaust says that no special tuning is needed but I would be interested in hearing what actual owners have found. I will...
