I've been on the boards for about 6 years. Everyone who mentions the Progressive 412 don't recommend them. The 430 is highly recommended as is the 440 and the new 444. I have the 440 stock length and they work well for me. A little light with the wife on the pillion seat. It is recommended to order the heavy duty spring if you are a stout guy or ride a lot with the wife.

I can't imagine EVER going lower than 11.5"! The rear tire will rub on the underside of the fender and sever the wires going to the taillight and signals. Don't ask how I know this!
12.5" stock length on the Touring?
Same as the Roadster then. With the potential of loading even more weight on the Touring (I never even rode two up), I really question that anything less than 11.5" would work.
