Thanks mate for the offer i have close by a member Rough but slow just up the road who has also offered to come with his laptop and cable etc to help out i may now have to take him up on his offer .

Don't worry I thought of it, I don't need much of an excuse to pop over just ask @Scuba Craig but if you are down close to Melbourne it is more like 8 to 9 hours, it is 6 hours from here to WangarattaIts only a 4 or 5 hour ride ? leave early and you would be back home for tea

That's a good all-encompassing thread. When I was having trouble with my cable I found that same information, but scattered across many sites/posts. Turning off VCP and connecting direct to the USB port was the bit that worked for me. Turning on Display Logs may also prove useful.

Well guys my bike is back from the Dead , Rough But Slow (Dave) came to my rescue last night . Dave came with his laptop and cable and after a little stuffing around they connected and we did the recovery and then reloaded the new map from Hanso . It was a huge relief for me .
A big thanks to Dave for coming to my house after work 40 min drive or so then spent over an hour here and it wasn't warm out in the garage either , SO THANK YOU and i owe you a beer or 2 in Torquay .

That's excellent news @dave64. I'm sure that's a big relief for you.
Any idea what the problem was? Did you learn anything new that we could add to our TuneECU troubleshooting information?

I can only think i have an issue with a cable or the windows 8.1 program , Daves laptop had windows 7 and loaded up the map and the recovery once connected real quick . Don't know if i am game to try and reconnect again . I will see how the tune goes and then may have a play .

I am bloody glad you got it sorted, My guess and it was from the start that you coped a dodgy cable.Unless Win 8 is the Culprit, which I doubt as I am sure @Tom-Hamburg or the TuneECU software writer Alain would have encountered this before now and released a fix or updated version
Now you just gotta come back and tell us if I sorted the blasted pop or at least minimised it for you
