transmission noise!!

Hi Patrick, The only difference is the color of the paint on the housing. Just lightly sand it and paint it with barbeque high heat flat black paint.

Bill
thanks bill glad to know there is only color involved but imagine two kits and they managed to f+++++UP NOW IMAGINE THIS GUY BEING A SURGEON OPERATING ON YOU

Dude paint it black or better yet John Deer green :D
Of course maybe someone needs a kit for the silver engine and he can buy that one from you and your dealer can try again. Did they say anything about taking it back and ordering the right one. My bet is they will need it sometime. I would but the silver engine I have is toast. It has broken valves and a broken crank. My extra 06 engine is black but I believe it already has the update kit in it. I also have a 2011 output drive and complete transmission in case I break something in the Falcon. Maybe when I retire I can become a Rocket Scientist/parts dealer :)
green seems appropriate

Thank goodness he is just the pharmacist not the doctor. You can do the Mary Poppins thing with a spoonful of sugar and make the medicine go down with a little black paint.

Wellllll.... You wouldn't be ONLY paying $100 an Hour:sneaky:
well tomorrow I go get the bike back from the shop and in my garage screw the shop who had no time for a week to tell me when they might start wrenching on it I spoke to jake shaw from the r3 forum who did the same work so I should be alright he will send me a tool he has made to remove a special nut somewhere on the bike if it goes well I will save about $3000 not a bad decision after all

I agree with you there and will give any pointers I can. I am sure we can get Fred involved as he just did his. Although yours will be faster because its a black engine :)
No seriously I am not sure what kind of rafters you have in your garage so Maybe Fred aka Rocket Scientist can give you the dimensions of the plank hold down system he did. Also you want to loosen up the special castle nuts with a brass drift. it just takes a few whacks and you will be able to take it off without the special sockets. Even using the sockets you want to shock the castle nuts anyway. mine were so tight I broke Ian socket and had to replace it. And do not use any rags to clean the inside of the engine. Fred did that and had to remove his sump pan because the loose lint from them hung up in the engine case and clogged the sum pan screens. I am not sure but he might have used to soft of a rag I suggest something like jeans that are strong a tough. So Now you have to make your mind up as to whether your just going to do the output drive or drop in the new second gear. I recommend the out put drive first and hold onto the other parts. The replacement plugs in the kit are for the ones going to the instrument cluster and ignition. The one you have is not water proof. But you can always clean the one you have and water proof it with some Permatex RTV, Silicone gasket material. I will find my other wiring harness and take a few pictures to show you what I mean. Pictures sometimes explain better then my writing or at least help clarify what I am writing.

I have an entire head and throttle body assembly that I was holding onto so I could do a quick swap out when the time came for a valve job. I don't need them anymore since I have a complete totaled 05 rocket now with something trashed in the transmission or output. I am waiting til winter to take it apart and repair. Any chance you would want to swap my head/t.b. parts for your transmission parts? I bought an 09 classic with the insurance $ and want to redo the 05 as a cafe racer.

I have thrashed part of my transmission before which is why I bought the 2011 plus its a chance to measure and compare parts to see if Triumph has made any changes. Whats wrong with the 2009 Transmission? and the rest of the bike for that matter? Was it a Classic?
