transmission noise!!

well isn't that a peach after this travail I am stuck whatever I try the bloddy thing won't come out I try to imagine what is in there that stop the whole thing to come out and since I do not have the picture of the interior I can only imagine the following ; the busted bearing (front one) having lost the steel balls slipped down on the shaft and is hooking up on something with a ridge since it is probably 3/4 of an inch lower than its normal position yet resting on the shaft it would hold the whole thing from sliding out if that is the scenario I am totally F+++cked any body has another scenario to propose before I call in the junkyard remover

Ditto if all the bolts are out my bet is it is the rest of the bearing outer race. this is good as it might mean your did not totally trash. I am with fred on the coaxing it out.

all bolts are accounted for the cover and shaft does not go back inside maybe one mm I tried wiggling in every direction but it just stop dead it does not feel like something a bit loose is holding it more like hitting a solid metal wall

to bad you put yur sump pan back on as you would eb able to take a peak up inside her. It also looks like you had it out further on Page 17 then page 19 or am I not holding my face straight Your starter is not in the way is it?

you guys do not hear or see I believe the first time I moved the cover out(curiosity) it wiggled out then I pushed it back inside and bolted it with just two bolts now it feel that when I try by wathever nmeans to keep sliding it out it hit a very solid something and stop dead I can turn the shaft and tried to wiggle and turning but basically it won't go past what you see on the picture

the sump is not mounted and the starter is definitively not in the way if nothing can be done here I call the garbage truck in a week time and dump the mother in the bin

you are right about the shaft being out further the first time about one or two mill further
if somebody wants to talk to me 403 6858075

before the cover slid past the round shiny tube of the gear thing now the cover only goes as far parallel as the end of that round tube

THINK SCOTT, WERE LOSING HIM ! You mentioned above that "it is probably 3/4 of an inch lower than its normal position" not sure what you mean ?

In this picture you can see that the gear may have dropped down and caught on the bearing housing to the right of the gear it meshes with. Is there some way you can tilt the cover to lift the gear end of it up ? As you can there isn't much of anything in that area.

I raised the motor a bit and stuck a finger deep inside ( talking metals parts here)I feel a gear and it turns when I rotate the output shaft at the rear end I cannot wiggle anything as the cover moves easily back one mil or rotate freely till it hit the gear sensing thing I cannot even pry it I tried sticking a bar between cover and motor and when the SOB stops it stops
