TPS test and replace

@motolink Hmmm so we can tell your linked up at least some. Might have to send a message to Tom Hamburg to see if he has a idea as the whether your have a problem in tune ecu. Does it list what map number is in the ecu. Have you tried to read the map that is in the bike? I have seen a few older bikes that tune ecu could not recognize the map. Of course I never thought to ask if them bikes could perform any maintenance work like the ISCV RESET. I do know guys wit the newer ECU's and new tuneboy maps can support the maintenance work with tune ecu but not read the map which is what I am suspecting is happening with yours. But first link back up to the ECU and switch the tab to map edit and lets see if it shows and map information and if the TPS LIGHT COMES ON. Maybe the light is only active on the map edit tab. Also this would be the tab you read the ecu map in. I have to be honest I am a tune boy user as I bought mine when there was no tune ecu for rockets so i am winging it a little. It would also be good if someone like @Steel or @Claviger both have the special tune boy map could plug into his and go to the diagnostic page where he just changed his TPS and see if his TPS LIGHT IS GREEN. And alsocheck the test page for the light.Or anyone else who has a special non tune ecu map. Heck even if they have a tune ecu ma in it they could report the results so we or at least I can learn :) It could be that on the diagnostic page it does not enter the area of the map in the ecu maybe like it is a section of Global Variables or Permanent Comon Variables that are maintained where as local varribles could be used to pass information to arguments for say caculations for given condititions or conditioal staments or for passing information. Something to me If,Then, and while statments. Keep in mind I am not a programer with the exception of Parametric programing. Like Fanuc's Custom Macro A & B, Okuma's User task II, and Fadal's macro. I am guessing there us arguments and conditional statement in some for of tree theroy programming. Darn I never should have dropped out of school when I was a kid.

I am thinking to go back to the beginning and reload the tune, reset the adaption then do the adjust the TPS and ISCV process to hopefully get the TPS green light on.

I think before you try loading any tune you should see if the TPS light is on in the map edit tab verses the diagnostics tab and the test tab. Also have the map you have in the bike already up on the map edit tab. If the TPS light is green then your good to go. If not try reading/copying the map that is in the ecu. If it is the same map it will copy fast. The save it under a new name. This could be just adding the date to the original name. I wish i hhad a bike and computer to try these things for you. But I think it is the safest way first. You want to avoid locking up the ecu. To bad there is no one around you with tune ecu on a seperate laptop to plug in and verify whether they can get a green light. Or if someone could just plug into their own bike to verify whether or not the TPS light is on in all three tabs on their bike.

The last one I changed I had problems getting a connection. I had to shut everythung down and start over 4 times before I got a good solid hookup to the ecu. Once I had it...no problems

Yea & I've read a few past posts that people had problems with the cables ordered from Amazon- Got the cable from LonElec & had no more problems. You have the LonElec cable or no?

Diagnostic Interface for TuneECU Motorbikes
So @EasTexRIII can you use your good cable to plug into you bike and see if the green TPS light is on for all three tabs. Map edit, diagnostic, and test tab. It could be @motolink has a funky cable as i am not sure where he got his from.

Or Morris since you have both styles of ecu's @R3Tex

Sorry it's not with me.
I will as soon as I get home at approx 5:30 CST

No problem bud I suspect the way you throw that beast around you will grind the frame out from under you before yours goes bad :)

Just seems like these TPSs are bound to go titz and I want to be prepared.
