This Close " to cutting off heel shifter

Nope. Don't know what they call it. Have seen another in pics. I like it too. I like to ride with just the front of the foot planted and the heel free. The shifter is in the way. Want to keep all the original part in case the next owner wants them or I have to revert back for a reason like yours.

I understand your issue. Because the Triumph shifter is NOT splined, it can not be adjusted downward out of the way of your heel, as I have done with my Kaw V2K. I found a splined shifter from a Thunderbird that worked for my R3R and eliminated all the linkage crap.
The distance from the engine spline to the shifter toe location does varry from the R3R to the Standard & Classic so, measuring your bike followed by a comprehensive search will be in order. Good fortune with your mod!

Year model on the Tbird?

Year model on the Tbird?

I went to the Tacoma Triumph Dealer (now defunct) and parused all the motors on the floor.
I didn't pay attention to the exact T-Bird model or year.
Tis a straight shaft and is 4¼ inch from center spline to center toe peg.
Parts fiche shows the same part for 2009 thru 2016 Thunderbird - T2082815 (assembly).
Has worked well for me the past two ride seasons.
BUT to be picky, I would go with an extra inch length if I could find one.
Here is a pix:

LOOK at what I just found!!! Tis what I bought for a shifter:

The listed part numbers are Bike Bandit numbers - not Triumph, which I believe is 2082811 (shaft only).

Rocket 111 (Classic) 2007
- Phantom Black Pearl PR IVC L5029 T3120300-PR / Tornado Red DUPONT CM BEC 2211 T3120300-CM or IVC L2804 T3120300-CM

'Tornado Red' is much a lighter and brighter red than 'Sunset Red'

My 2006 Sprint ST 1050 is 'Sunset Red' too. Some call it generically a 'claret red wine ' color.

But yours does appear to be reversed primary color, unless the 'Tornado Red' versions all came that way.

Took the hacksaw and grinder to it. Can still heel shift OK but can use the whole platform to change foot positions. If the heel peg is ever needed will drill the shifter and bolt a peg on. Now, what do I do with the non fitting shifter pedal collection?
