After a little over 1000 miles last weekend in over 90 degree heat, I have decided that it is just to dam hot to ride this bike in these kind of temps. I had the Jardine header wrapped and this helped tremendously. I am seriously going to investigate getting the exhaust header jet sprayed to see if this will allow me to ride the beast in these kind of temps.
Does anyone know of some place that does this and any contact info for them would really be great?

Thermal wrapping the exhaust should have cured some of the problem. I'm curious how you're going to solve the radiator heat problem. In hot weather I've noticed the radiator will cook your legs evenly, the exhaust heat shields are pretty effective but when the rad fan kicks on my only cure is to get it to 70 mph. Ergo I don't spend a lot of time below 20 mph when it's above 90 degrees.;)

I find I don't have any problem with the left side. It's only the right while running down the road at most any speed. It's too hot to ride with your leg up against the header and when you open your leg to get some air, it just catches the air and brings it right past the header and right up in your face and chest. This in turn cooks the sh*t out of ya. So its either cook the inside of your leg or be blasted with the hot air off the radiator. I am going to call a place today that I found online. I think from what I read that I can get it done for around 200.00 dollars. I will post my findings.

I had mine ceramic coated big deal is all I can say. Yesterday the road temp was 110 the bike was running 203 my right foot was hot more from the radiator then the header I rode with my right foot on the highway peg and thats the best I got. If you ride at night you will see the header glow after a good hard run and then cool down real fast. I will try wrapping next. It's still better then a HD which is hot all the time. I had the headers on my Bonnie custom bent and then Jet Hot coated. I went with Jet Hot because they are a first tier supplier for the Federal Government, Military operations and for NASA for heat shielding.

I went with the Jet Hot silver and it looks like dull chrome. I noticed an immediate reduction in pipe temperature plus they cool down much more quickly. I had it done 5 years ago and it's still 'just like new', no problems whatsoever.

If I rode the Rocket more, I'd do them (exhaust log and cat delete) as well. I don't. I have to share between 3 bikes so the Rock isn't an everyday driver.

There seems to be a proliferance of coaters around now but Jet Hot was/is the original. I'm very satisified.

Thanks Sidecar. I think Skip could have something there also about not having a windshield. I think I am going to have them coated and wrap them also. Hopefully I will be able to ride the beast in this 100 degree weather we have been having.
