I always found it advisable to index a potential girl friend before using a more important part of my anatomy. Never felt the need to index a motor.

Cause I've never run a car tire (I did spent a day riding a bike like mine with one.) although I support the right of other to do so if they wish.
Now that I think of it, I also once stated (25-30 years ago) I'd never run panniers or a shield!
