Anyone ever tried or know anyone who has tried the Veskimo? Looks like $500.00 US will get you going. Very interesting. Some years ago I looked into personal heat management on the bike. Not a lot out there, tried the evaporative vest, sorta worked but very uncomfortable, felt like a wet rat.
It's not a bad idea. I was working around the house yesterday and was sweating pretty hard. I was drinking water but when I went for a quick jaunt on my bike I was riding it like it was my first day on it. Weird.
My friend has one of those. He has the hand carry configuration. He used to live in Tucson, AZ. He fills it up with ice and says it was good for about 4 hours. He still uses it here in Idaho when it gets really hot.
Next time you ride through Del Rio in the middle of the day in July or August without one let me know how comfortable you are. I thought they were cheap at twice the price when I was coming up the valley the last time...and yes...last time I checked $250 was a better price than $500...about half as much I would say. Of course I ain't all schooled up on that new fangled common core math so my cipherin' may be off a little

Yea that's what I meant the $250 better than the OP posted price...... I'm in Amarillo now headed to Santa Rosa NM. 105 degrees there tomorrow. I want one

I looked at these before, a good idea but I really don't see much of a comparison. $250 gets one set of packs. With the Veskimo any place that has Ice and I'm back to 100% effectiveness. That's every time I stop for gas.
