I like this idea a lot more than the original one posted. This frees up both hands to perform the shim change. Simple but effective and minimal chance of slipping and scratching/scrapping something.

A word of caution ! When using any valve shim tool. DO NOT TURN THE ENGINE WITH A SHIM REMOVED ! The cam will contact the raised edge of the bucket follower and break a chunk out of it. Don't ask how I know this

ouch!!
 
I was thinking the shims in the Rocket were "under" bucket and that was the reason the cams had to come out. This is a revelation to find out they are "over" the bucket. Good news to me.
