Plug Kits

I just noticed this nail in my relatively new Bridgestone

I've never actually used a plug kit before, are they safe for long term use?

If so is there one that's better to use?

I called my dealer they said they would fix it using an internal plug for $175.00 If it can be plugged

Or they will give me 30% off a new tire and sell it to me for $200.00 + $120.00 for labor

High price to pay for something that can just as easily happen again at any time

I swear in all the years I've been riding I've never had as many flat tires as I've had with my touring and now the Roadster.

It's enough to make a guy wanna go to the Darkside!!!

I had a flat today so don't feel bad. I haven't pulled the object out yet but it looks to be a broke off razor blade. Nice one inch slash. Had to get a friend to trailer my bike home. I just had a new tire put on a couple weeks ago.

I've had two rear tire flats since I've owned this bike. It seems to me my bike is easy to get rear flats!!!

Plugs are ok to get you home etc .. I've ridden around on one but if your finances allow I'd be replacing the tyre mate.

So you are saying that darkside tyres do not get nails in them???? plug the buger and ride it like you stole it.
Ten years ago on my first tyre change I got a nail in about the same place after 400miles dealer said replace I said eff it plugged it and got 8000 miles from it.

I'm thinking about getting mine patched on the inside. I've ordered a new tire but MIGHT use the damaged one later. It is basically a new tire.
