Since most people don't have a clue about the Rocket 3, maybe someone walked by and thought you forgot to turn the switch off. They might have thought they were helping you out. That's probably an overly optimistic view of the situation, but you never know. I don't know of any other bike that has a visible switch like that and someone might have thought it needed to be off. Generally, most bikers would never touch another man's bike except in an extreme stuation to help out in some way. One never knows the motivation.....

Yes, aft

Hello, R3 Owners,
I couldn't help but get a chuckle out of reading this post.
This switch is there to turn off the ignition. For a dealer to make a statement (leave it on all the time).
Says a lot about that dealer's knowledge on the reason for this switch. Check static voltage drain with it on & off.
This is what I do and in no means it is right, it’s just what I have always done.
(Turn switch on, move the start/stop to on and then start, after finding neutral, start/stop to off, then I turn ignition switch off)
Think about this as a key switch if the Triumph had one, you would never leave the key switch on. These Rockets have key-less ignition this disconnects that function.

This switch is there to turn off the ignition.

Ähhh... no?

As I said: this switch does not exist for the rest of world and I can tell you for sure, that if it would be necessary, useful or with any kind of certain sense in itself also all the other countries would have it.

It only interrupts a connection that already is with no power at all...

By the way: my TFC is the one that consumes the lowest amount of energy of all my bikes - while the TFC is still green (CTEK indicator), the BMW R18 is already at yellow, as my R18B too, and the Super Ténéré is nearly empty during wintertime...
