On a flat highway traveling 60 to 70 mph mine will show an instantaneous of 50mpg or more in high gear. What I've noticed is that I get great mileage in high gear and it drops considerably in any of the other gears and it really doesn't seem to matter much about the speed so I usually short shift it and get it in 6th gear as quickly as I can. This thing has so much torque that it doesn't seem to care....it just pulls. I ride mainly country roads, so I can keep it in 6th gear most of the time. If I have to do a lot stop and go driving then the mpg suffers big time.
Any one else not seeing these kinds of numbers? Seems everyone here is getting 6-8mpg more than I am. My bike is low miles and runs great otherwise. Any suggestions where to look? If I could get 150+ miles on a tank, it would make life a lot easier. Been looking at other bikes recently, ONLY because of the range I get on a tank. Sick of having to search for a place to fill up twice on every ride.

Great, that's what I was looking for. Depressing!

Wish I knew why mine gets such crappy mileage? I don't hammer on it, as I've got my Ducati when I want that. I'll show instantaneous of 42mpg at 75mph on a flat hwy, but my overall average sits at 34mpg around town and short hwy. Curious what yours shows instant at hwy speed?
Sounds about right, remember it's an 800 lb bike
