Odometer Error?

Any one else not seeing these kinds of numbers? Seems everyone here is getting 6-8mpg more than I am. My bike is low miles and runs great otherwise. Any suggestions where to look? If I could get 150+ miles on a tank, it would make life a lot easier. Been looking at other bikes recently, ONLY because of the range I get on a tank. Sick of having to search for a place to fill up twice on every ride.

Sounds about right, remember it's an 800 lb bike

I average around 45mpg (US gallon) but I have over half of that at 55mph on the highway. Stop and go really hits the mpg hard, and I know for me, when I am over 60mph the mileage starts to drop pretty quickly. The wind resistance starts to really kick in.

I record all fuel-ups in Fuelly. Based on that data, I've averaged 33.604 U.S. MPG over the past 2 years. My worst ever fill-up was 26.316 and my best was 44.104 (pure highway between the two stations).

That's on 89 U.S. octane (RON + MON)/2

This is, of course, based on the bike's "perception" of mileage traveled. Since it's 8% high, the calculated MPG is also 8% high.

I did that on my 2007 and that to turn out to be 33. something mpg
the best was going up and down mt lemon was 50. something mpg on a nice trip was 44mpg

Ok, that's more like what I'm seeing. Around town really hits this bike hard. I guess maybe mine isn't so far off. Just wonder about all the guys who swear they get 44mpg all the time, or maybe everyone else just rides 60mph on the highway all day long.
