I know our bikes speedometers are REALLY off. Mine is a full 10%, which sounds like normal for most people here.

I saw a post where someone hinted that the ODO wasn't off. Has anyone measured? Anyone driven some highway miles with mile markers and compared to the ODO?

I've always assumed my 34mpg and 130 mile tanks were really 31mpg and 120 miles (which is worse than any bike I've owned).

Anyone measure?

UN/ECE regulation 39 requires that Motorcycle speedometers in this speed class be engineered to read high from 0.5% to 16.2% high at 120 km/h, so the 8% I see is right in the middle of that range.

The U.S. has no regulations regarding speedometer accuracy, so vehicles intended solely for the U.S. market tend to be far more accurate.

My Tiger 1200 GT Pro reads 3% high for the same reason. Better, but still annoying. Especially since this directly affects the odometer as well.

The last time I checked my ODO it was off about 4 to 6 miles over a 100 mile stretch. It didn't seem to be quite as far off as the speedometer but it was definitely reading higher than the actual mileage. I used my GPS and compared the readings after 100 miles. I usually average about 42mpg according to the ODO but in reality it would be a little less since the ODO is reading higher than actual.

my 2007 was correct on the odometer and 10 percent high on speedometer with stock tires
and when i installed the bridgestone excedra which about an inch taller the bike would travel about 5% farther and the speed was 5% over
on the speedo.

Great, that's what I was looking for. Depressing!

Wish I knew why mine gets such crappy mileage? I don't hammer on it, as I've got my Ducati when I want that. I'll show instantaneous of 42mpg at 75mph on a flat hwy, but my overall average sits at 34mpg around town and short hwy. Curious what yours shows instant at hwy speed?

A friend of mine had around a 2020 and when we filled up the gallons was almost a perfect match which i thaught was good being that his was the bigger motor.
