I did find what is supposed to be a good fix from Kibblewhite. They developed a tappet that holds the shim instead of letting the shim float inside the retainer for the GSXR1300, might be adaptable.

Taken from the specifications section, and likely pertinent: It is especially recommended for use with reduced base circle cams.

Going to give them a call and get the dimensions of the tappets they have to see if this is viable.
I find it really odd only 1 valve did that, at least on my bike.
I'm inclined, however, to wait on my new valvetrain parts and see if the gentler cam shoulder ramp rate and correct springs preclude this issue all together.
