I'm done with tyres!

With you on that one.

When I first got the Rocket and came on to this site and read about the cost of tyres I got caught up in the quest to find cheaper rubber i.e. car tyres. After realising it wasn't a good idea, insurance wise (UK only maybe), I actually worked out the cost of using a Cobra. Assuming 6000miles it works out at 3p a mile, the Metz was slightly more at 3.2p - what was I worried about?

The fuel works out at .15p assuming 40mpg - 5 times as much as the tyre, so the most efficient way of saving money is to not use the bloody thing.

how do you find your millage goes when you're walking? LMAO

I don't really care too much about economy or i would have bought a postie bike, so like you I agree it is about the best performance.:D

LOL.. I always think that when someone asks how good is your gas mileage.. I do get about 32-35 MPG, but if I was overly concerned about that, I wouldn't be riding a 2300cc bike!.. :)

I constantly get mates say geez you must notice the fuel use with that thing compared to ya ol ST Honda, my reply is That Thing will make your sewing machine (BMW / Wing)look very silly at a set of lights and I just pump it in so I can pump it out blowing you in to the dust.
My bike is my sanity I don't ride it to save money that what push bikes are for

Fuel, like tyres, cost what they cost. Must say I do like it when I get an extra 20 kms before the light comes on but only because it means I can ride a bit longer. With tyres, I choose what I think is the best for me and if I can get a good price on them well and good. But like the rest of us, it costs what it costs and if I was worried about that I'd ride something else.

So now I need a new front tyre, can't get for one as it's just started snowing. That'l bugger up my MOT on my Kwaka now & then I can't get my road tax, so then I'l have to declare SORN & then need to reinstate everything. What a crazy mixed up system we have here.

Just because some model of Bridgestone tire had issues doesn't mean they all have. The G701 has been out for many years due to being standard equipment on the Honda Valkyrie. Believe me, if I have a problem with this set, I will definitely post it so y'all don't make the same mistake I did!.. lol

Hey fellow zoomy,
Getting ready to (finally) replace the metz's. I have been all over the site checking out tires, can you please give us an update on the Bridgestones, front and rear?
Thanks, Mark

Im running the exedra max bridgestone on the back . I have only done 600 killometers on it so far but im never going back to those ****ty metzelers ever again so far i love the exedra max:cool:

Avon was a big improvement on the Metz but a bit skittish (rear) in the wet. Can't say enough good things about the Bridgestone I now have on the back. Better grip, ride and will probably give me almost double mileage (from the look of it) over Metz and 25% more than Avon. Mates really well with the Cobra on the front.

Did you mount another Cobra on the front? thought we where gong to BS on the front..
Gee Richard ya hard to follow.. :(;)

Bridgestone front and rear. Have said so quite a few times Dennis but I know you're easily confused :p. Almost 10,000 km on the rear and around 1,500 on the front. Love 'em and probably stick with them from now on - certainly on the back (best by a longh shot) and on the front seems as good as the Avon if not better, especially in the wet.
