After I did a @Neville Lush upgrade (cams & pistons) I wheelied my '11 Roadster nearly once a day on the back roads to work. The very first time that big girl stood nearly straight up I almost had to turn around and go home for a wardrobe change. I also had a Speed Triple before that, but unlike the Rocket it was only happy in Hooligan mode, yet the Roadster after the upgrade was much easier to wheelie. Sold the Roadster and much more responsible now on the 3R.

I still wheelie my Roadster occasionally and do really enjoy the ability to do that. The TFC won’t wheelie for chit and I don’t like that about the bike. This probably my biggest disappointment with the new model.

I don't wheelie my Speed Triple RS often, mostly because I'm trying to be sane about power use. That said I have popped my Thruxton R a few times, mostly when I'm trying to catch my son-in-law on his Speed Triple.

How much do you love that Thruxton? Always wanted one. How's it do trying to hang with the ST?

In SPORT mode I can hang with Tom no problem. It's a 2016 model so doesn't have quite the punch of the current units but still a lot of fun. My only problem has been running out of revs when getting on it hard. I'm used to the stratospheric revs of my ST and this bike tops out around 7K RPM (where the ST is in the meat of the poswer band for another 4K of revs). So I end up shifting more often than I do on my Speed Triple. That said the ergos are much more comfy on the Thuxton with foot and knee position, but the Tamarit seat isn't nearly as plush or comfy as my Speedy's. So after a few hours my knees want off my ST and it's my a$$ on the Thruxton.
