Honeymoon Over?

Discouraging hearing of this, and the spark plug and a few other issues. No mechanical device is perfect but we have a right to expect it to be correct when delivered. My dealer is 80 miles away, I hope I don't have a break-down, I do not have a trailer.

It's a GM, I'll try that, thanks.

When we use a scanner we do that but it is in the run position and our scanners communicate w/o eng running.
I know if you have a weak
battery it won't last long doing that.
I don't think that it will hurt the newer vehicles.

If Triumph or any motorcycle or car manufactory made a perfect product there would be zero repairs and most everyone knows that dealerships make most of their profit from repairs. I believe my Triumph dealer mechanics here in California was $135.00 and hour when I looked around a year ago. I'm fairly certain there is an air usage fee and you can't be in the dealership longer than half an hour before the fee is implemented. If you purchase something in their store your parking is validated.🙄

I never needed a trailer until I bought a Rocket. :(

Personally, I've owned 3 Triumphs, problems with all three, virtually none with any other brands I've owned. Possibly coincidence, but I doubt I'd ever buy another.

This is a thread that's fast becoming a sad tail of unhappy & frustrated motorcycle enthusiasts who feel let down by a brand that, in it's own name promises so much... 'Triumph'.

I'm new to the brand as this is my first Triumph.....I'm hoping its not going to be a Friday one.........or are they all built on Fridays?
Is there anyone on here that has done big miles without problems of any magnitude such as the good folks earlier in this post?

I'm really sorry to hear about this. I'd seen other posts on the displays cracking unexplainably.

I'm not a fan of dealerships. I'm not suggesting that they're being dishonest, but I wonder if they just plugged in a diagnostic tool as the first and final step. Based on what @Tal said that could be your issue too, but it would not occur to them to check that.

I wouldn't call, I'd go by there and ask to see the bike with tools in hand, flip up the display and push the cable firmly in. Hopefully, the bike starts and you wave goodbye to them for the last time.

Whatever you decide, keep us posted.....
The fact that the display is a bit of a hassle to take off almost put me off...almost but not quite!...i was suprised at the simplicity of it actually as its just a plug n play unit. ALL the wires for the dash run into that display thru the one electrical plug so i had nothing at all on the display until i clicked it home. I should mention i had tried to put rivco risers on and probably put some stress on that plug causing the plug to come apart a nat's tit. I just went back in my mind thru everything i had done to track the problem. I'm hoping this help's Doc's situation maybe.
