harley hunting club

Personaly i'm getting a bit jack of all the Harley bashing that's going on here of late. WTF ... who cares if some blokes want to ride Harleys .Suggest you go find a 124 or a 131 cube HD with an experienced rider and line up ... when you actually flog him ... 'then' start bagging Harleys.

That's so true, TRIIICK. Besides, I love my bike because it IS a Triumph, not because it ISN'T a Harley.

Very well put Richard. Some of my mates have really nice Harleys and they are good to ride with.

I'd happily park a fat bob or v-rod, even a couple of the softails, next to the Rocket. Ditto with a V2K or VTX. All good in their way.

I ride with MANY Harley guys in my Vets Club. They are brothers.
It's about the rider - not the motor IMHO.
However, whilst at Sturgis last summer, I did take tremendous pleasure in greasing each and every Harley or other cruiser that wanted to wick-it!
I like Harleys for many reasons. Speed and handling are NOT two of them.

It's kinda like folks who ride CTs. Not a real threat, they like it; so, why care - just have fun with them and grease the ones that want to wick-it.
Best Regards,

Does harley come in a big boy size like that?
All I've seen is their 103 inch screaming turkey,
that and the occasional weak v-rod.

You don't like the idea I take it,
then don't order one or offer any ideas for the patch,
that was an easy fix wasn't it?

Skip i don't like patches period . What i don't understand is why you'd suggest a design that puts sh!t on Harleys ... when half the Owners on here own one or two Harleys themselves. Just don't see the point.... my input

In fairness to the Harley bashing I do get it to a point. As a whole, Harley owners do the most trash talking by far and their whole thing is "if it isn't a Harley it's trash" and they don't even know why. When they trash an obviously superior cruiser like the Rocket it's even more ridiculous. But that's not all Harley owners, including me. You have to ignore the idiots of the world, and unfortunately, there are a ****load of them. When a dog barks at me I don't bark back at it. It's just a dumb animal. The guys that talk like that are posers that are only using the bike as a prop. They think it makes them cool and honestly, they're scared to buy any other brand. To them, the bike is just an accessory to their pirate outfits.

I'm all about bikes and cars.......any brand. Every manufacturer has something to offer and I would never let peer pressure or anyone else's opinions dictate what I ride or drive.

It's just the hardly thing. Yup, I have an 06 sportster in the barn. Hasn't been on the road since the Rocket came home. What really gets me, is to watch all these weekend warriors, all dressed up like Captain Jack Sparrow, all hardly garb, "T" shirt, vest, patches, boots, wallet on a chain. Riding a VERY over priced underpowered shinny turd, that they had to dust off before they left their house. Out on the weekend, for the "look at me" ride to the local diner and back home. And their, if it ain't a hardly, it ain't a motorcycle attitude. Hell, after riding my 2013 Rocket, and realizing the power, comfort, cruise-ability plus all the acceleration, I'm embarrassed to be seen on my 1200 sportster, which by the way, cost me more than I just paid for my 2013 Rocket! I'm not bashing hardley, but they do have their own forums, just sometimes you have to put on a dew rag or an eye patch, to get them to work.

I forgot to tell you how I came to own a Rocket. I have wanted one since they came out but they were more expensive than the Harley and I really liked the Dyna's. My first street bike was a Sportster and I liked it. The quality of the Harley is also very nice and I needed a bike to ride 2 up with my wife since I just sold my brand new (and kind of disappointing Valkyrie). My other bikes are not 2 up bikes. So I bought a brand new Street Bob in 2006. Anyways, it was OK for cruising around but very unexciting. After only 2,500 miles I decided to sell it and just go ahead and buy the Rocket. Guess what? Nobody wanted to give me any money for it! I started looking for one anyways and found a dealer in Mass that was selling one on consignment. He's a Harley shop and wasn't able to sell it for almost 9 months. It was mint and also had only 2,500 miles on it. I proposed a straight up trade and he said bring it up and we'll look at it. They loved it. I rode the Rocket and I loved it. Signed over each other's titles. Done deal.

I've never looked back. Best deal I've ever done. The Harley never gave me any trouble and was nice looking, but I was kind of bored riding it. Every time I ride the Rocket I have this sh1t eating grin on my face, that never happened with the Dyna or Valkyrie and that's priceless.

This is my Valkyrie. I also sold it after about 2,000 miles. If I don't like a bike, I get rid of it. I don't think I'll be getting rid of the Rocket!

Here's the Street Bob I traded for the Rocket. ( By the way, they sold it right away.)
