Do you walk as far as you want. Does anything stop you from doing so? Poor palpable pulses are mostly the result of poor operator technique, unless it is a vascular surgeon. Those guys know their stuff. You need a competent vascular tech (RVT) operating out of a Credentialed Vascular Lab, examine your legs circulation by medical order.

In any case, your most significant problem (chief complaint) is drop attacks (sudden falling). Suspect her is narrowing in one of the arm main artery (subclavian) or narrowing of one or both of the vertebral arteries. Not surprised about the nurse and her questionable screening. They are not trained in these matters unless... it is a vascular nurse practitioner. Again, competent RVT to the task. And I say competent because I have seen (so said) competent RVT miss the diagnosis.

This stuff is so tricky that there are techs that all they do is neck and brain circulation. If the problem is not poor neck/brain circulation,,, humm? o_O Competent Vascular Surgeon and Neurologist to the task. There are many of these guys out there. They are all good as it is very difficult to obtain the credentials.

Good luck

Just got a call from heart doctor and he has me schedule to have test done this Friday morning at 8 am

OMG.....I wish I could walk 100 yards an back with out pure pain in legs and hips and having to stop 2 or 3 times. There are times I have to sit down on the ground.....I have had to sit in the floor at home depot because my legs and hips hurt so bad.....embarrassing when people walk by and ask if you are OK.....I just say I have a cramp in my leg and I will be fine.

I use to love to walk....I walked everyday for years on a gravel dirt road up and down hills....I walked 4 miles in 52 min. and it was great. No heavy breathing....it made me feel much better than when I did not walk

On 12-20 I get a THA ECHO 2 ever what that is.

I'll try to keep all informed as to what is going on.......Good or bad

Thanks again..............you guys are the very best

Sound like you have Vascular Claudication. This is the name of the condition where there is lack of flow to the muscles of the leg. When you are at rest flow is enough but, when you walk muscles need more flow, your arteries can not provide it and you HURT! Your doctor (Vascular Surgeon) will determine where the blockage is and if it can be fixed and how. The Echo (heart ultrasound) is part of any vascular work up. The heart is the origin of the arterial tree.

Joey, it's good to see that you are listening to the information offered by a kind, compassionate and knowledgeable man (thx, 1K9!!!) and taking care of business, i.e, looking after yourself. It is vitally important to deal with problems such as yours aggressively and persistently - the sooner you have a proper diagnosis, the sooner you can have it remedied.

I, too, wish you good luck and nothing but success in getting your health on a much better footing (no pun intended). Wouldn't it be a wonderful Christmas gift to yourself to know exactly where you stand and what you can and should be doing about it?!

Well Guys
It wasn't so bad...they did a ultra sound type thing on my legs and arms. It is where they put pressure cuffs all up and down both legs and down to the big toe, also both arms ...arm pits to wrist.

In my legs they did not hear the sound they wanted to hear....what they wanted was a 3 part sound almost like a heart beat. what I had was just a swhooosh sound in the thigh area and the same all the way down to the top of my feet...
My left leg was the worse...and it took her almost 10 min to get some sound out of the left foot behind the ankle bone and I never heard any sound from the top of the left foot. The right leg had the same single sound swhoosh.....swhoosh......swhoosh . The right ankle and top of foot had fairly easy to find sound

Then they did the test again and used the pressure cups to stop the blood flow....just guessing on that part

She did say I had nice feet........so I guess that is a good thing

She is sending the sound and pictures that she took to my Doctor for him to see what is next....
Thanks for the good wishes and prayers.....Seems to have helped

I'll keep ya'll up to date on any info I get

1K9...I did show her the info you gave me plus the new word........Vascular Claudication

again many many........Thanks
