GI Pro Gear Indicator

It's all good, Ken! Look at it this way, the delay gives us something to look forward to as we try to keep our cabin fever at bay.:D

:D

Kelly, I'm ordering the dresser bars, pegs and mounts in the next day or so. $326 bucks TYD! Whaddya' think?
My classic footboards just came in. The number of parts is amazing. The box even has a replacement kickstand. I haven't taken complete inventory yet, but the first part I unwrapped was a brake line, so it will be a serious conversion.
The Triumph dresser bars must be out of back order then? I'll have to give Gengras Triumph a call and put in an order.
I pulled out a floor board and the heel toe shifter to compare to my foot, you were right about the Rivco parts, they would have been way too small. The Triumph parts leave plenty of foot space. No clearance issues there.

Sweet... glad the boards are a good fit. Now have fun with the install. man, i wish i had the patience to swap out my rivco setup...:(

My guys tell me that they expect to have the bars in hand within 7-10 days. The other parts they have in stock, so I'll place my order early next week.

I am deliberating whether to get Tuneboy and 3 KNs, or maybe stay with the under seat KN but now the GIpro has me intrigued. It seems to me that apart from the handy gear indicator, it does exactly the same as the Resistor Mod and removing the secondaries? The GIPro costs $235 in Aus but the previous mods cost basically nothing.

I guess my real question is; with TORs/cat delete/Under seat KN; what real difference is there going to be between a TB properly sorted ($500+ here) and the Resisitor mod and secondaries removal? From what i can gather only a few HP?

This will, no doubt, re-start the never-ending debate between the Tuneboy crowd and the GIPro people. I have both so I have no bias. I think performance would be pretty similar either way. I did the TORS and K & N Triple and Tuneboy mod first and it was amazing on the R3T. Those that just did the GIPro with just removing the secondaries had similar results.

Baz, I have this exact setup on my 08 standard, I am very happy with the performance and considering my age (mature, unless I am on my bike) am not really looking for more at this stage; plus I do not really think that I need all the attributes and possible hassles of a TB.

The only other performance mod that I may consider down the track is the fitment of a PCIII/5, suitably dynoed of course.

In summary it all depends on what you are looking for from your bike, if you want a fire breathing monster go with Preds, TB, triple K&N's etc. I didn't think that I need all that as I am aiming for a more cruiser style bike with attitude rather than setup as an all conquering sport bike. In other words what you are looking for in terms of performance/rideability and how deep your pockets are determines the way to go.

Peter

PS Forgot to add that I have the GiPro ATRE that I purchased via the group buy at a substantial saving (thanks Triumph Phil)

GIpro arrived this morning, fitted this afternoon, not had a lot of time to try it out but it does seem to give a better response in the lower gears. Will probably never get to test the top speed limit override its all to much for me. I have it set on setting 3 with TRE active in all gears. I am interested in your setting preference & why ?

GIpro Problem

Since installing my GIpro I have had a constant problem with the gear indicator displaying the correct gear. I have gone through the auto learning procedure numerous times and the meter is fine for a couple of rides, then starts to go haywire again, usually being a gear or two off from 2nd through 5th. The timing retard function has never been an issue staying in the number function selected. I sent the company an email concerning the problem and received an immediate response on how to return the unit to the company base in Hungary. A replacement unit is already en route. I am more than pleased with the customer service. They are going to test the returned unit for defects and advise me of the results. Hopefully it is just glitch in this one unit and not a problem with my bike.

Hope it's just a glitch George.
I know mine is working perfectly,
I've not tried to find sixth the first time since the install.
Always the correct gear
and the only time there is any lag time
is if I got the clutch in.
Good luck with your next one.
