Ride
Rocket 3
Hi guys,
Have recently bought a 2005 Rocket 3, problem I am having is on a journey of over an hour I am suffering pain at the base of my spine. Have got an airhawk and also sheepskin but think the problem is ultimately riding in the cruciform position. I have footboards that appear to be welded on a rail that go the length of the engine.
Are there mid controls available for this bike and would this help and where the geck do i get them ?
Ant thoughts ideas would be appreciated as failing all of this the bike will gave to go if I cant ride it.
Cheers

Nick what you have there so you know is a set of extremely rare . Triumph accessory floor boards in standard rails. A pot of gold for you to sell. Probably what you need is a set of roadster rails and pegs. Yes rails also. The also make a classic set of rails and floor boards which might suit your spine. They to are hard to find. One thing for sure the riadster rails are more mid and upright sitting.

You need a back rest it will force you into a better posture might the want to lift the handle bars up. Remember mum always said sit up straight at the table. :)

Ha ha, very true. So a new saddle with backrest, move the bars, that's 200-300 hundred quid and then change the rails which i cant find anywhere st the mo. Doing well arent I ??

Give it a chance you'll find dome long legged feller who is tired of riding with his knees in his ears. Try adjusting the bars a little roll them up and forward so your not hunched over. Oh some people put risers on the bars which are not as pricey. The rivco ones bring the bars up a couple inches and back some. Im not sure I gave a set I had on one of my 05s away. If I wasn't 1000 miles from home I could probably scrounge up a set and send them to ya for postage. But alas I'm down here at the beach :) another idea would require you to have a machinist buddy nearby :D
