Engine Cut Out At Idle

Tony!
We both been called CHEEKY in the same day!!!
WOW - we be brothers now fer sure!:roll::roll::thumbsup:

the TPS is a lot more important than some may think as if it is out even just a touch it can make the engine run rich or lean depending which way it has slipped as the ECU is relying on the TPS to tell where your throttle is at so it can send the correct fuel, so if your TPs tells the ECU the throttle is open more than it really is you will be running rich as the ECU sends more fuel.
It pays to regularly check the TPS voltage reading as it can slip, it should part of regular maintenance
I agree i fitted the new tps , first i measured the voltage with a meter you got .63 Hans so i lowered by .03 volts when i fitted new tps i have also fitted new map sensor just in case started it up ran so much better now . i was using single strands of wire in the plug of the tps to measure v so i was getting .705 v but i assumed it mingt be a bit higher than using laptop so i just reduced it by .03 but it made it run much better

Pete when I checked it it was .61 and you said that is as close as the dealer could get it I suggest that you get it accurately adjusted as the single strands of wire could have some resistance, I don't see why you don't just fork out the $20 for a cable and download the free software so you can check it properly as I told you, that and listen to what others like Neville tell you.
I will explain more in a PM

Well it explains plenty. Hanso kindly sent me some tunes after I got the CES headers and I downloaded one. It worked great for a while and then suddenly started running like a pig and not idling. Sometimes it was OK. I recently asked if tunes can be "unstable" and no one took it seriously. Worst thing I ever did to my bike was fiddle with the tune. Hopefully I can restore it to what it was before. Thanks for posting Hanso. I really wish I'd left it alone though.

If you read my opening post it is an easy fix and it was not "unstable", there is an error in the ECU pre Roadsters / Tourings. The error is corrected by the 20227/8 tunes, tell me which one you used and I will send you the transposed version of it on the corrected base with the good tables and if was giving you trouble why did you not tell me, mine has only been doing it recent times and after checking all avenues mentioned it to Neville who knew of this unpublished ECU error.
There are parameters in the tunes that neither TuneECU nor TuneBoy can access and it is one of these parameters which is corrected by the 20227 or 20228 tunes
oh and if you read your text messages this morning I sent you one to call me when convenient so I could explain how to do the fix if you wanted to it yourself there is no hidden boogey man in your ECU so there is no need to be scared of it

I never said it was unstable. I was wondering if it was possible; had no idea what it could have been but there seemed to be a few people with similar(ish) issues and I was just looking to see if there was anything they had in common. Seems it might perhaps have been the tune. No drama. Got no text message about it. Each to his own and thanks for the offer but I'll be putting things back the way they were.

He went on to tell me that Triumph had released the 20227 (std exhaust) and 20228 (TORs) in 2008 because of this issue,
I remember when I first started "playing" Wayne Tripp mentioned that the 20227 family had several improvements over the 20050 tune (though I never knew what). So I transposed the fuel tables across when I was sent a 20050 based tune. With the PCV/AT of course you really could slam in a standard 20227 (save the F-L switch and butterflies).
