Dumbass Question.

Well I went for a good ride on it yesterday evening. Did about 300Ks all up. The majority of it at 130+Ks.

Bike really felt smooth with this program compared to the other one.
Really happy with that tune.
Thanks dougl for posting it, and a bigger thanks to Power Tripp for building it. Works a treat.

My fuel warning light seems to have a bit of a premature onset and kicks in when it's only used 15 or 16 litres.

So. Fuel consumption with old map running at around 115Ks (slower than yesterdays run) was 190Ks for 16 litres.
Last night I got 200 for 16 litres and using more throttle. Definately an improvement.
I reckon if I could contain myself and stick closer to the 100K limit then it could easily get 220 or more from the same amount of fuel, but thats boring riding like that so I doubt I'll find that very soon.

I had a look at the stepper motor yesterday before I left. It seems to be operational as it does a little dance when the key gets turned on.
At least I know it's getting power and moving, so that's a good start.
Leaves me to think that it's more than likely the TPS.

Am going to have a serious look thru the diagnostic side of the TuneECU tomorrow morning and see if I can check/reset/adjust the TPS with it.
If that does no good I'll order a new one. Gotta get it in from the UK, so will be 3 to 4 weeks wait.

Woohoo. Yippee. Crack a big Woody and all that other crap.

I've fixed it and it's running like a dream.

Went back out this morning and had another play.
I was reading an article from a link in TuneECU about testing the TPS and ISC.

Followed it thru the steps and checked the voltages and stuff.
TPS read .59v Stepper motor was at .69 which was the bottom scale of accepable so I didn't much with it.
It then went and automatically did the TPS reset thing and I then disconnected it and went to do the auto tune as well.

As soon as I hit the starter I knew there was an improvement. The bike ran straight up to about 2000RPM then quickly settled back down to around 1200 to 1000.

Left it be for 10 to 15 minutes till the thermo kicked in then turned it off.

15 minutes I took it out for a ride. at the first corner it did a big backfire which was a bit dissapointing, but then road out onto the main road and did about a 25K loop back to home.

Not one backfire after that. Not even when pushing hard then shutting the throttle right off.
Absolutely brilliant. It is the best the bike has ran since I got it. Perfect.
I am soooo wrapped.

Was going to go back in to TuneECU and write a thank you and a donation to Alain for what he's done but I seem to be having a problem getting back into his site.

Hope I haven't broken any site rules or something. I never found a registery key anywhere and just assumed it did a self register or something cos it all worked just fine up till an hour ago. Might have to look into that.

Anyway. A huge thanks to all who made this work so well. Did I say I'm impressed:confused:
If not, I am.;)

Glad it turned out to be the TPS And You were able to get it to reset, save not having to buy a new TPS, I'm only to happy to try and help as it gives a good feeling when it all comes together and don't forget to let me know next time you come over to Pambula
Oh and the Fuel light comming on after 16 to 17 litres consumed is normal for the Rocket

Great to hear that, Cobba. Hate to think of anyone not getting their proper share of enjoyment from their Rocket. By the way, my light's on after about 17 litres gone too. Distance varies between 160 - 220km around town (can't quite figure out why...... :D) and 250-300km on a trip depending on load and, well, you know.

Are you talking distance to light coming on (refill with 16 litres at that point) or distance till you have to fuel up (20 or so + litres)????

What's on for next weekend??????
Still waiting to here back but I heard on the grapevine that a few ol mates are going over to Pambula next weekend.
Will update that in a PM to you both if and when it's gunna happen.

Running a Fairly Rich Tune but if sitting on about 110 to 120ish will get about 240klm will before the light comes on, recntly while towing a mates little Alli lite trailer (approx 180kg's the bike didn't know it was there) while coming back from Phillip Island to Barinsdale, along fairly flat country and sitting on 100 - 110klm/h (blue lights hiding everywhere) the light didn't come on till 268klm (outstanding), on average around town 220 to 230 seems to be limit, eventually I will get it on a dyno and get it fine tuned which may improve it, not stressed though.... bought the the bike for power = Fun not fuel economy.
