Well cable arrived this morning. Sat down and started to try and download all the programs.
By 1pm I had lost the plot, called it a day and decided to wait for my young bloke to get home from school.

Thank god for 16 year olds.
Till then I went over the bike and checked the K&N install compared to the post here.
All pretty much the same except for the location of the O2 sensor which I moved closer to the throttle bodies. Probably wasn't an issue stuck out thru the fame in front of the tank, but not how it was discribed, so moved it.
Also removed the secondaries while I had it apart. Not sure if this was a good thing or not. A lot of people seem to be doing it but when reading thru the TuneECU install post it said not to.

I took it for a ride after and it didn't seem to make any real difference to the way the bike rode, infact actually seemed to retard it a little.
I had done a lot of reading by then and had a fair idea where I wanted to go so when my son got home at 5 it was just a matter of the boy finding the correct paths to get there.
By 7pm we were ready to do the do and we did.
Program removed was a 20145 which turns out to be a Jardine fixed, whatever that means.
100% secondaries and 6800 Rev limit.
New program was then installed and bike gave a burp when it all finished which made me feel good.
Disconnected the laptop and stuck everything together and off for a insect filled dusk ride.
Bike seemed to run a lot smoother than before and reduced the backfire by maybe 50% but it didn't fix the cold start/ low idle issue I have, so now off on another cause.
Will sit down with the young fella again before long and see if we can reset the TPS and check anything else available.
Thanks again for all the help. I must say that today was a big learning curb for me and I am now a lot more knowing of the workings of my bike for it.
What a brilliant forum.

It's good to have such a wealth of knowledge available.
