Dobeck Performance Electronic Jet Kit

From their web site, it looks like the Dobeck allows you to modify the fuel pulse under several conditions. How do you maximize performance? Guess? You at least need to check it on a dyno.

Tuneboy gives you access to the parameters that regulate fuel, ignition, secondary throttle plates and other goodies: 1) 3 main fuel tables for TP > 15%; 2) 3 fuel tables for TP <6%, where the regulation is based on manifold pressure; 3) ignition tables for different gears. Most of us with Tuneboy have gotten custom tunes from Tuneboy for our intake/exhaust configs. These come pretty close, but from a performance tuning standpoint, they can't be optimal. If you could find someone to dyno tune directly using Tuneboy, a real performance tuner would ask you where you want your torque and HP and tune it accordingly. Even assuming the shop could use Tuneboy, this would cost a lot more than a PCIII, Dobeck and Tuneboy combined.

Ohhhhhh Skippppppp. Did you do the Dobeck, and what were your results? I am interested. Looks like even I can do this one.

I have an R3T with TORS and the Triumph TORS map. What, if anything, will the Dobeck do for me? I'm basically looking for cooler running and not necessarily for max performance. I do not intend to go for triple K&Ns. The mod looks pretty easy and reasonably priced

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Yes Yes Yes, tuneboy is far superior to this device a wee bit more expensive but you can do so much more with tuneboy.

I'm sure you can do more with tuneboy but the question for me was whether I wanted to set and forget or fiddle. I'm the former. Installed the Dobeck 2 days ago and it has overcome my main concern - that I was running lean. Bike's also running great and has scary acceleration. I did also put tripples on at the same time but have to say the Dobeck seems to have done exactly the job I expected. I can now 'fine tune' it with a screw driver.

One tip would be to install it at the same time as tripples and/or removing secondaries as I couldn't see an easy way to get at the injector connectors without removing the air box plenum and there was no way I wanted to have to put that f'ing thing back on - again.

Got my Dobeck from Flip for a great price and saved postage because he put it in the box with the tripples. I'd recommend this for anyone not wanting to play with tunes or squeeze every last neddy out of their bike - altho you could do that with a dyno if you really wanted to. Hit and miss? Maybe a little but no more than carbie tuning and easy to adjust anywhere, any time. I'm very satisfied.

This Dobeck sounds like it might fit my needs (and abilities). After installing it, how do you know your running lean or rich? Does it require a Dyno run to maximize it?

Thanks
