Someone asked if the AFR+ can take fuel away from the stock map. Yes. The 3.5 and the 4 AFR+ can be set to make a leaner condition than is set by the ECU. It's closed loop, so it doesn't care what is in the map. Load dependant, the closed loop (yellow and red) zones disregard the fuel comand sent to the injectors and only sends what it needs to arrive at a set AFR. The green, however is simply an adder or subtractor. On the guage whn setting the green zone, the number 13 represents no fual added or subtraced from the map. You can add or subtract up to 3 AFR values from the stock fuel curve no matter where the RPM, gear, TPS is. This is like opening up TuneECU and changing all the fuel numbers by the same amount. For example, in TuneECU, if you have 3000 RPM AFR set at 13.5 and 5000 RPM at 12.5, if you change the green zone to 13.5, you have moved 0.5 AFR value for everything. Now it's as if you changed 3000 to 14.0 and 5000 to 13.0. Now this is all assuming that you have moved the closed loop switch points all the way to the right essentially turning them off and essentially running it in diagnostic mode with the ability to change the entire curve up or down. I've been experimenting with this and am making notes in order to make changes to my ECU map. The AFR+ is best suited for cruising. I do dig the ability to extend my range on the fly. I can get over 200 miles to a tank again (when I want). Have not done that in a while. Having the ability to use closed loop doesn't mean you have to. But when it's enabled, it feels like I'm riding a much more refined bike. It's a lot smoother. It only takes a few seconds to turn off and on, so why not. When I'm in traffic and my leg starts melting from going 5 mph for 30 min, I just add more fuel to the mixture and the pipes cool off. It's like adjusting the idle mixture on a carb while the idle screw is automatically adjusted to keep the same RPM.
