copying ecu tune to PCV

The problem here is - there is only one Wayne Tripp - and he stays over in 'merica.

I have found a Dyno place close to me - BUT already heard of folks whose bikes he's blown up before he's even touched the mapping. So I'm not going. AT may be less than perfect - but it's smoothed my beastie out and improved consumption.

Well it might. But Wayne did tell me his opinion before I took the plunge. Of course it's not as good as a bespoke tune by a real expert.

But as Wayne's post also explains. A tune he does on one bike can be equally wrong for another that on paper looks the same. Simply because the base components (injectors) can differ so much.

Have you had it dynoed just to see how the power and A/F curves turned out? There's "perfection" and there's "good enough". Using similar arguments, the stock tunes done at the factory can't possibly be optimal for stock bikes all over the world.

See post 11 above. Not even sure if it's a braked dyno. So no.

Plus I've not tuned for power - I wanted smooth. It has to be real road usable. That's what matters to me. Before the PCV it was jerky, a PITA in traffic and erratic (stifled) at speed cruising. I was getting sore kidneys from the missus punching me. I use the secondary butterflies to deliberately control airflow especially in lower gears.

It's better than "good enough" but NOT perfect.

I would never argue with an expert, and I have no claim to any particular expertise when it comes to tuning, however, I do ride a Roadster with Hanso's map on a PCV + AT hookup. I can tell you that the difference was significant in both power and fuel economy (when I ride it like a human and not some recently released resident of a rubber room). I have every intention of making an appointment with Wayne in the very near future to get a specific tune for my bike to make sure that it is running exactly as it should be.

Not really, PCV AT works fine for street use. But it all depends on how well you understand what the engine wants, and the delay factor.

NOT EVERYONE HAS A DYNO AT THEIR DISPOSAL.

Could have said it better myself I have never claimed it was better than a professional Dyno tune but and I this in all seriousness there are very few good dyno operators that I would trust in my immediate area and when I do get the funds together to let Neville loose in side my mottor (not in an extreme way by any means) I will have to invest in Tuneboy as that is what he uses I have been told, also after he has done his magic I will not be making any more changes so maybe just maybe the PCV + AT will not be needed most of the time but and again I say but what happens when I put my 500kg camper trailer on? So I am thinking I will keep the PCV in place but not connected when I am not towing and then while doing my customary servicing of the bike I can hook it back up for the trip with the camper as the fuel varies so much between here and Phillip Island

I am not burned by Wayne's comments because I respect his knowledge and he gave me good advice when I discussed making my AFR table he said it was a good starting point and that was exactly what it was and I found from my own use and that of others comments after they had used it that it was lacking on places so I added a bit here and a bit there and a bit more elsewhere and came up with version 2 and it might not make the best possible power it make the bike more responsive, smoother and more economical that it did running one of Wayne's tunes for my exhaust setup because That Tune was done on another bike to suit it and my AFR map just smoothed out its shortcomings on my bike. A mate used to complain he could smell unburnt fuel and saw puffs of black smoke as I have it the berries now no more, on a recent trip I recorded the best fuel economy I have had since I bought the bike new and I was not even trying to be economical.... Not my style I did not buy the Rocket to be a worried about fuel economy.. Far from it
