I drove over my phone yesterday, killed it dead. Verizon staffers were impressed with the totality of my effort. Unfortunately, I lost all of my contacts because I didn't save them to the cloud.

If we have exchanged numbers in the past, mine is the same and this is a golden opportunity to forget about me having yours. Unless of course you want to communicate like maybe Mulley, Daddy Rabbit, Vanguard, R3Tex, and I think Bolton may have already sent me a text. If indeed you do text back, put your name on the message please.

Thanks.

Sorry to learn of your misfortune, Amigo! :(
Finding your beloved cell DRT from your own hand must have been traumatic indeed! :notworthy: :banghead:
Soothe yourself in a FINE SOAPY (pun here) bath to wash away your heart-aches.

Hit the Rebel Yell pretty hard last night with a mountain neighbor. Discussed and disgusted with what appear to be the front runners for 16. We agree that more fish need to be in the pond. Spent about three hours at Verizon scum today.

If not for being the primary contact and POA for my Mom, I could live without one outside work. I know where STB, Raiman live and I can get close enough to Mulley to find him.

I be new to the smart phone world (4 months) and have found the Samsung Galaxy S5 to be easy to use and reliable . . . so far.

If you had a smart phone you would of had to of had a gmail account. I would think if that were the case as soon as you sign in some of your contacts should load to your new phone. You can always check your gmail account on line and update contacts and when you change phones they should automatically download in to your new phone. The Samsung Galaxy is a great phone. Al

My new job just gave me an I Phone 4. I think it can do more than my laptop. I've been using and old Captain Kirk flip phone for the last 9 years. I guess I will have to learn how to use the smart phone now. Why can't a phone just be a phone ?

I sync contacts to a Google Account, but also use a feature in a mobile-security app called Lookout that will allow you to choose automated sync of contacts, call logs, and photos. It can be a resource/battery drain on older phones, but works quite well on any modern device (phone or tablet - Android or iOS). There is a free version, the premium version enables all of the features and has been a lifesaver for me.

No smart phones for me. My ATT Pantech flip phone does great. I dont text, dont send pictures and if someone wants to talk they can call me directly. Oh, yea. Wife washed my pants last week with my phone in the pocket. She dried them as well. She came in and proclaimed me an ass for leaving my phone in the pocket. I hooked it up to the charger and guess what.....it works fine. Took a few days for the outside screen to come back on but it works like it never happened. My old Nokia vs hot tub was not so lucky.

I'll give up my flip phone when it dies. If I can't get another I'll likely look for the cheapest alternative, one that allows me to disable everything but the phone. I don't need a 4-5" computer, I don't need google storing my info (I worked for them for a bit, don't trust them), and I don't need another camera. I don't even turn my phone on unless I need to make a call. All my contact info is stored in multiple locations, and none of them are cloud based.
