competition for Rocket 3??

Like to understand how that front suspension works???

I think there are 2 shocks tucked up behind the headlight that are connected to the centre rod. The "forks" appear to be just guides. Always thought it interesting that the selling point of the suspension was that it felt just like conventional suspension. Form over function I guess.

Why did this thread reappear. Someone bored?
Without a shadow of a doubt, it has to bethe most pigging fugly bike well possible next to an Ariel Leader.
Without another shadow of a doubt either Rockets are truly beautiful.

EYE of the BEHOLDER, Baby!

I copied the photo and zoomed in.
Seems the fork tubes are stationary and fixed to the frame.
The axle is solid strut mounted to the fender?
The wheel moved up and back with the axle and the center rod controls spring and damping?
It appears to be connected to a double action lever bar mounted to the triple clamp at rear and perhaps that shockie you spoke of at the front?
VERY WEIRD!

1olbull, had my eyes tested recently and fortunately they were fine.

Why do people on here keep saying that the rocket is ugly ? From where im sitting looking at the back end of mine it's looking pretty damm sexy , then again it does have a darkside and that fills up the rear guard just so..........

My "eye" (aka opinion of form appearance, for @Blackthou) finds the Rocket strong and powerful looking - NOT ugly!
But then, I do not find the Rune or Edsel ugly either.

I actually like the Rune myself , now why someone would own a bike they thought ugly is beyond me, it's like saying " Oh yeah the Mrs is as ugly as a twisted boot , but **** she can cook "

Rune is on my radar for a future bike to own. I was very tempted and offered a new 2005 in 2007 for $19000 when I stopped at Honda dealer in Oregon (just to look at what they had) while my wife and I were driving to Reno to p/u my Rocket. Rune is special and beautiful just like our Rockets.

I just felt the Rune had to much plastic fake chrome. Rockets are built like cars from the 50s and 60s when metal dash boards still existed.
