Bear Claw Over Triple Filters

Push them down as far as you cae and leave the third one loose so you can reach underneath to adjust it as you fit the bear claw. Once your get it clocked right it's not too snug but it does touch the inside of the bear claw.

For me it worked better to start the aft bolt first.

It's snugg. In fact the back filter will be squashed a little even if it's turned. You just have to look at how much you need to cut away to have it clear altogether. Not sure if you can make it out on my pics but the top of the rear pod now protudes about 1/2 inch past where the bear claw would have been had I not cut it. Don't be afraid to apply a little force; they are flexible to some degree. Just make sure it's fitting properly on the throttle body and clamped on tight.

Last filter is definitely snug - definitely touching bear claw and a bit squashed but, from what I can see, it's still sitting on throttle body as it should be and it has been tightened up so hopefully not going anywhere.

I know some have modified the claw by cutting it to expose the filters, I start the rear bolt first (just a couple of threads ) then make sure the centre clip is fully seated then start the front bolt finish by snugging both bolts up.
I have had the K&Ns on for quite a few years and if I remember correctly the first couple of times with the bearclaw were a pain in the arse

just a little tip when I was running the triple 2780's I made a nylon washer about 1/4 inch thick and used it to space the rear mount out from the tank it still just touched the claw but only just this avoids squashing the filter, also as previously mentioned leave the #3 filter just a touch loose so you can rotate it to give the best fit then tighten it or just get creative and Cut the baby

Sorry forgot to look to see what bike you had. I tried to get the sealant in the joints for the mufflers and finally gave it up. So far so good though without it. Can't wait to hear your comments on the Jardines.....

JC here is my triple orientation No 3 at 8 o'clock and my bearclaw slips easily on and off... like a stocking over a chickens lip..

Good to hear bonecarver! Started her up today and she sounded great. Joint between the 2 pipes seems to be fine. And I believe the joint between the header and right pipe is sealed as well. However, I have an exhaust leak where I removed the O2 sensor and put in the bung supplied by Jardine. Going to try and put something on the threads of the bung to try and clear this up. Can't wait to go for a test drive!

I guess I would put a little of the silicone on the threads and see if that works....

The Jardines sure make for a mean sounding bike !!
