Just replaced the stock Metzlers.....put Avons on. I have had Metzlers on other bikes and hated them....didn't like them on the Rocket either. 6500 miles and both front and rear were trashed. I realize these are heavy bikes but so were my prior. Even after aprox 3000 miles stability and grip went to hell with the Metzlers. Put the Avons on and I realize they are brand new tires so they have a lot of bite right now but if anyone cares about my opinion (my wife sure doesn't) the Avons are by FAR...and I do not promote brands......a FAR better tire. I just hope I can get a little more life out of them but even if not, they are by far a better fit for these bikes. Spend the few extra bucks.

I appreciate your opinion. Your wife and mine should talk. I just purchased a Cobra for the rear. I haven't put it on yet. I will let you know what I think.

Cobra report. Rear tire lasted over 10,000 miles. The front tire still had enough tread to be safe when I took it off just over 13,000 miles.

These 2 tires had a track day at Oregon Raceway Park and 2 trips on a dyno.

Wow Idaho, very impressed. Makes me want to destroy this Stone G352 even more lol. Metzler was dead at 3600, would have been usable but dangerous out to around 4k.

Avon set is definitely my next tire, cost be ****ed. If they last 7k and grip better then Metzes ithe will be a big win-win.

I had my Avon Cobras installed yesterday. First quick impression is the bike feels lighter during manoeuvres.

Avon Cobras front and back on Rocket X with about 5,000 miles still looking good tread wise. Better handling and much better in the rain than Metzles. Will not go back to metzels.

You've had both Exedra Max and Avon Cobra on the rear and you think the Avon handles better? I may have to reconsider the Exedra Max.

Anyone try the Dunlop Elite III on the front?

Used Dunlap elite III's on Harley's but have found that Michelin commander II's are a much better tire.
