Hi Phil...you are correct on the 7% deviance on the speed. Drives me nuts. What kind of milage are folks getting out of the Exedra Max?
Yep...got 6500 off the Metz's and did not like they way they handled. After 3000 there grip went to crap....in the NE they treat the roads with what we call tar snakes...fill cracks with tar. When it warms up and your into a hard turn it can get a bit spooky to lose front and back side slip when you ride on these. I am used to a bit of slip but these tires literally lost total traction often. I like my hide in one piece (although I have a number of scars to advise the contrary...LOL)

Good day all,
Just picked up a set of Avon Cobras, front and rear, so that I can see how they feel. On the Met'z side of the conversation I currently have just over 14000km on my first set of Metzler's, the rear is currently at 2mm and the front at 2.5mm. I had no issues with these tires in either the dry or wet. No complaints at all. If I had any riding season left I'm pretty sure I could get another 1000km on this set. Almost 10000 miles, can't complain about that. Looking forward to finding out how the Cobras wear.
Cheers

YES I agree and I ride fast and with a group of sport bikes And we run the stock Metz at the drags on our 8 sec Rocket 8,9 sec @ 158 mph SO cant complain

my two cents I replaced the avon cobra front for an avon Azaro !! that tire is a rear tire and is 140 vs 150 for the cobra hardly noticeable visually yet a pleasure to lean into turns! I would say better than the cobra overall it is mounted in directional reverse naturally.

I mostly spent a few months trying to get a hold of (new tires this year) a set of V-rated Avon Cobra whitewalls for my R3 Touring (150 + 180) because of aesthetics, but once they were on there the massive upgrade in ride quality was a pleasant surprise. The bike basically reads my mind now when turning and not a hint of front-end shake which I had with the tired Metzelers. Will replace them with the same when the time comes, no question.

Great info lads...... I out 6100kms on my bike this year so I reckon I'll be okay next season after which I'll be dumping the Metzlers for Cora's or Excedra Max's

My Metzlers still look okay to be honest that being said the have spun out a little when I launch it from a stopped position ( like I'm sure any tire will)

Just replaced the stock Metzlers.....put Avons on. I have had Metzlers on other bikes and hated them....didn't like them on the Rocket either. 6500 miles and both front and rear were trashed. I realize these are heavy bikes but so were my prior. Even after aprox 3000 miles stability and grip went to hell with the Metzlers. Put the Avons on and I realize they are brand new tires so they have a lot of bite right now but if anyone cares about my opinion (my wife sure doesn't) the Avons are by FAR...and I do not promote brands......a FAR better tire. I just hope I can get a little more life out of them but even if not, they are by far a better fit for these bikes. Spend the few extra bucks.

Basically the Avon rear gave me 50% more than the Metz and the Bridgestone gives me double the mileage of the Metz. It's also better for grip and ride. This topic has been gone over dozens of times - do a search. Avon is a good tyre in the dry but a bit skittish in the wet. The higher profile of the Bridgestone is all positive. If you have a Roadster just be a bit careful about putting smaller sizes on the front - again, do a bit of research.

Is everyone still standing by the choices of tires. Its time for me to change mine.

Exedra Max or Cobras
