2011 Rocket III Roadster
For all of the Rocket riders in the USA and Canada: I am in no way advocating bypassing a local repair shop or your Triumph repair shop in this post. I am just passing along a good price to those of you that do your own repair work including tires. I have always done my own repair work and mods. However occasionally I may need to have something done (like tire mounting) that I cannot do at home. In this case I have already discussed mounting and balancing a tire for the R3R with my local auto tire dealer. I know the guys there so it was not a big deal. I will say I do advocate building a good relationship with local repair shops, tire dealers, parts guys, etc.... I ordered an Avon Cobra from Rocky Mountain ATV on Tuesday 3/1/16 and it arrived today around 12:00 EST. I paid $212.88 for the tire. The manufacture date on the tire indicates it was made the first week of August 2015. I would suggest that anyone looking to purchase an Avon Cobra for their Rocket do it sooner than later. They only have a few left. I spoke with their customer service and asked them if the tire was 3 years old or older could I send it back and they had no issue with that. Again I am passing this along as it is a great price and I hope those in need of a tire take advantage of their deals. I also bought a bunch of other crap they had good deals on. Good Luck.

At under $160 with free shipping, I believe the the Bridgestone Exedra Max is the best rear tire deal overall for our non-Touring models, but that's a chocolate vs. vanilla argument as the Avon is undoubtedly a high quality choice, too. Bridgestone Rear Exedra Max 240/55ZR-16 Blackwall Tire - 004710 Motorcycle Goldwing - Dennis Kirk, Inc.
wow!! at that price I just ordered another spare I now seat with a new rear mounted , one on a shelf and another on order.if only I could find another azaro?

Musta' been one crappy tire, Rick. The E Max has garnered universally rave reviews for or R3s.;)
I dont think it was E Max but it was a Bridgestone. It had more of a touring style M&S tread pattern and it was a 180 tire. Not like the Meztler or Avon. That bike has been gone for several years. I remember the bike always felt squirrely in the corners, like it wanted to slide out from under me.
