ANYBODY install the Gas Tank KNEE PADS?

Thanks for all the replies, I'll make sure tank is clean before install!

I have both. I like the look. Kinda breaks up the hugeness of the gigantic tank. I traced around mine with a wax pencil and then lightly sanded the paint to take the shine off before sticking them on, but then I always tend to overdo things.

I started by fitting the small left side pad, but it just did not stck, cleaned the tank with the cleaner provided with the kit, worked out a good position but the very top and a bit on the bottom would not stick, what do I do next. I guess I have to buy some thin sticky two sided paper.
Anyone suggest a fix.
Thanks

I finally installed mine today. I had another post about measuring and such. I just put the left side on first then more or less eyeballed the right side. Didn't know they would be so thick but I like them anyway. My tank was already getting scuffed in the area they protect. I also noticed my tank pad is getting scuffed up too so I'm glad I put that on a couple months ago.

I would use two part epoxy. Just don't get it right out to the edge as you don't want it to squeeze out onto the paint.

Got them now, like the look but have noticed when riding that they really don't do much. However they do cover a scratch I had on the tank:rolleyes:

Got them off e-bay for $31 + postage

Anybody install the gas tank knee pads on a Rocket 3 ? If so were you happy with them, thinking about buying a set, I see the left size is small, not much room. It is part # A9718005

1st thing I added, for nostalgia. Actually quite nice. Small left side is for "bear claw" clearance. I have to trim the one at nose of seat to match pinstripes.

Do they make these for the touring?

That's a good question. I myself would be interested in some for the future. I try to keep my knees/pants way from the tank but it's so big I still manage a little chafing on the clear coat over time. So far I have been able to use a little scratch remover to polish it out. I would like to find a set if they are out there.
