I separated my stebel and put the compressor where the original horn was mounted. Ran a rubber line to the horn which I fixed to the frame in front (outside) of the left side cover.
It gets everyones attention.
I just mounted a Wolo Bad Boy horn (same as Stebel) under left side cover on my R3T.
I LOVE it!!
It wakes the dead, scares small children, and deafens animals of all sizes.
Got it for $39.95 from Harbor Freight...it includes relay and instructions. I bought a few crimp-on connectors from local Ace, and used wire I had lying around in the garage. Very fun mod, and fairly easy. Definitely satisfied with result!!
I like that wolo! Better shag my ass over to HF and pick one of these bad boys up! Under the side cover seems like a good solution...or where the radiator overflow tank once was.
I feel your pain. I sat behind some Nimrod at a green light for nearly two minutes yesterday because I was too embarrassed to bleep that pathetic horn. They may have well just equipped it with a bicycle bell!
No, but why would you when you know you can get one that's loud enough for $40.00.
What's the claimed decibels on Triumph's?
Stebels claimed decibel level is 139 I think.
Can't verify that, but it IS LOUD...
