Tuner Wanted...

Don't get a PC3, get a PCV with AT, then the bike will tune itself. Seriously, the AT will probably cost about the same as, or less than, a good dyno tune, and it will tune the bike no matter what inlet/exhaust mods you make. The PCV is also newer technology than the PC3.

Hi Lenny, as above get a PCV and AT, I have recently done this and the performance change is very good indeed. If your bike is pre 09 they will tryt and tell you that you need the PC3, its not true, pretty sure they are just trying to clear out their old stock of an obsolete item.

I have an 05 and the PCV fitted perfect, but get the AT you will not regret it. You will however need the good starter map from Hanso and your laptop functional to be able to load the correct map to the PCV as the map Dynojet provide is rubbish, you also need to be able to turn the Auto Tune to "On", I can walk you through this if need be having recently done it.

I have Jardines and triple K&N's and secondaries removed. Are you talking about the Blasted Bones? Decent tune. If it works, great. If not, get a Power Commander and have a good tuner tune it. That's what I did. If you do that, be careful what base tune you have in there.
I just got back from a ride into new mexico/colorado. The elevation where i live is 240 ft. I get 31/32 mpg. In the mtns i was averaging over 40 mpg ( and thats in the up and down twisties using 3rd/4th gear). The rocket ran fantastically smooth.

I get back down to low land (US 287/82 across texas and im back to 31-32 mpg. I understand the ecu has a pressure sensor and adapts to altitude.

The point of my post is.... I want the 10,000 ft performance down in the lowlands.

How do you get a map and load it into a PC5? Im giving up on findind a local tuner.

Send a PM to @HansO and ask him for a map for the PCV and also for TuneECU. You will need to let him know the year and model of your bike, as well as any mods. The TuneECU map will give a good base tune for your bike. The PCV tune will then get the AT feature to tune your PCV to get the bike to run even better.

Hi Slim

Not sure how good with computers you are so will keep this basic, no offense intended here BTW.

I am guessing you have the PVC & AT200, don't try the below without.

You need a laptop and a cable (its a common one the same as many digi cameras comes with the PCV anyway). I would recommend Hanso's blanked map as its heaps better than the piece of sh*t Dynojet give you.

All you do is install the Dynojet software on your computer (pref a laptop so you can do this in the garage)

You need the Dynojet Powercore Software (its free) installed on your computer (very easy to DL and install). Once opened you select the button called "C3 Tuning Software"

Click "Open" Top Left then find Hanso's superb tune on your computer you will have saved this somewhere from him, I keep mine in my R3 Folder in another folder called "PCV Tunes", in another folder called "Current Tune in Bike" (have one for Tune ECU also) this satisfies my OCD;).

Once you have it opened you need to make sure your ignition is on (sometimes helps to pull the lights fuse so your battery does not go flat).

Hit the "Send" button (second block in on left). Now it loads it so fast you will think noting has happened, Tune ECU takes a long time to upload and download, the PCV is almost instantaneous.

At this point you are done. You may wish to disconnect then reconnect and push the "Receive" button as a check, you should see the map is now Hanso's map.

Now this is where I went wrong (and I'm assuming you have the AT? if you dont a blank map may not be of help as the AT actually fills in the map for you). If you have an AT you need to turn it on inside the PCV (I didn't and had issues:rolleyes:). Go to "Configure" select "Autotune", select "Enable", then go back and hit send.

I did this and it worked. Hanso knows far more about this stuff than I do, so if he says different OBEY HIM:).

Alternatively, hit the "Help" button on the C3 Tuning Software it opens up a manual with page after page of info, I read it all, you shouldn't have to

Hope this helps it worked for me.
