Triumph mechanic close to S. Ark?

Most bike shops in Aussie only order the parts as needed also, very time consuming, but you would think they would look up (given that you gave them heaps of notice) the parts you need and pre order them ready for the job, thinking ahead seems to be a trait people just can not and will not comprehend these days...
Its basically a harley shop that sells triumph. The mechanic had never seen the ramair filter before.

If this update was done by a dealer would the dealers computer show it based on VIN? Was the update kit based on a recall?
There was no recall because not every bike had problems. But if your had the update kit done by a dealer and it was paid by Triumph like back in the earlier years then they would have it in their computer as being done since Triumph paid the dealers and supplied the kit. The update kit grew from other various problems like the problems with a bad batch of crank gears leading to the (coffee can rattle) then the out put drive had some problems and eventually the second gear issue on some. By now you probably will not get anything from them but your dealer should try as maybe you will get a break on the kit itself.

Dealer checked my VIN and said my bike doesnt need the kit. Then told me the bill was $1368. Im very tempted to mail the title.

Many dealers manage their cash flow by ordering only when needed. I don't agree with the practice, but in several scenarios there aren't enough parts in the US to stock every dealer, they all pull from a pool supported by a quick delivery process.

You can ask them which bar they are going to buy you a beer at? There are some nice hotels they can set you up in as well ;)

It was a ridiculous shafting. $57 for a fuel filter. $89 an hour labor cost. The part i didnt see was smallest division of labor was 1/2 hour. All times rounded up. So 35 min actual turned into 1 hr for billing.

9 shims replaced? Kinda scaring me if that actually was necessary.

I have a friend in atlanta that is a retired helicopter maintenance guy. He loves calipering stuff. Next time i need anything, i think i will go visit him.

Parts will still be an issue.

Im leaving on a 12 day ride in a couple of weeks. The other riders laugh when i tell them if the rocket breaks down it may have a friction fire. This is caused by the insurance policy rubbing on the title.

$57 is the price for the Triumph fuel filter. Substitute filters are from $5 to $20 at your local auto parts store. I am sure, however, that there are those who love the name so much that they want the Triumph name even where nobody can see it.
