I also ride an 08 R3T, gotta recommend the Lonelec brand cable. I don't know what the "dealer cable" is, but if it works, it works.

Here's a link to the Tune ECU website: TuneECU_Start

There's a ton of resources available here, so take your time learning the site.
On the tbird forum it was recommended but you cant do remapping. Cost me 90 bucks. It came with a cable. I never used it. I downloaded the tunecu app and ordered the lonetec through there.

Did you find the tunes that are available on that website?

His (PowerTrip) ECU map is in the Resource section. Get your TuneECU working with the LonElec cable; read the instructions four times (you can practice reading your existing map and saving it - strongly recommended practice before changing anything -- always leave a path back), and then put the PowerTrip map in.

Take a ride - carefully measure your fuel consumption, and combine that with your seat-of-the-pants "accelerometer" (decide on some runs that you are able to perform safely in your area -- do them now, record the results (whatever they are), then do exactly the same thing after the alternate map is loaded, and you'll have your results).

If you're happy with it -- then you've achieved a goal. As PowerTrip wrote back when, this is the cheapest 30 hp you'll gain. Everything else after costs, and some costs a great deal.
