To shorty or not to shorty...

best power and sound I rate "CES" for my money followed closely by "Rebands" and "Vikings" for best finnish and if you are planning to go up into Hi comp (hi comp pistons) Hi rev (big Cams) areas then the Carpenters but the first three will give you the best usable power for on the road even if you go with the Lushy Street cams and hi comp pistons
I guess sound is a subjective thing. Reband and CES do seem to give better low end power on a stock motor, but I haven't heard anything better than the deep rumble of Carpenter's Brute pipe.

That link on ebay is the header part of a full Jardine exhaust. I would believe for $125 that's a deal.

04-09 TRIUMPH ROCKET III EXHAUST HEADERS PIPES JS

Nobody bit so I put an offer for US$100 and US$75 freight to Australia. Offer accepted and now on its way. I have a CES on my Roadster so I'll keep it as a spare and maybe fit to a sidecar R3 one day as it should be good for torque rather than top-end power.

@alpental is running a brute on his Roadster and it is louder than my CTS and likely a somewhat deeper sound, which I like.
What I found out from Abe was the CES provided a little more leg room and was not quite as hot as the Brute. Personally, I also like the clean look of the CES better.

Just like sound, look is subjective also. The CES does look good, and has clean lines. To me the Brute looks like a header from a hot rod, and just has an overall mean look that I prefer. Some people love the new pipe from Carpenter. I think it looks like a tangled mess.

Good analysis.
Hot Rod look versus artistic. :D

WOW! Doesn't look too much different from OEM.
Slightly wider radii from what I can observe. :D
It's completely different. Just like the other performance headers, it has 3 separate pipes that come together in a "collector". The stock header is basically three vertical pipes that feed into a horizontal pipe. With proper tuning you can still get over 150 hp out of them with the TORs.

The OEM #1 has a curve, but you are correct in that #2 & #3 intersect at 90°.
