I have a question on the throttlemeister, how well do they work? Any known problems with those? How difficult are they to install? Which one to choose, the heavy or the the standard? Or maybe there is a better alternative? any suggestions. thanks

Simple to install. If you buy one get the heavy model. Known problems, an emergency situation such as someone pulling out in front of you at highway speeds and not having sufficient time to roll it off, but you can still roll the throttle forward with it on it just takes more push.

I have one and only use it on the freeways on long trips just to allow my hand to rest for a little while. I also use a cramp buster on the throttle as well.

I have the same set up. I actually use the latter (CrampButer) always. A fact it, I have the same unit on each side and do more pushing than pulling.

Why is it best to drag a chain...because it's far to difficult to push.
But counter steering a Rocket under power is far different.

I have a Throttlemeister as well. Definitely recommend the "heavy" one. Not sure the "lighter" one will hold?
Either should work equally, though I imagine there is an advantage to having more (heavies are longer) to turn with gloves on. Plus there's the wider stance. Installation is a snap. I run a pair of heavies. I did recently have an issue with having run too few spacers. After two years of having just the right amount, something changed and the free play was lost suddenly. I had to add another spacer to get the throttle to operate normally. This after opening everything and exposing it all; then to find it was a frigging spacer with the Throttlemeister. Maybe I've been accelerating too hard and stretching the bars:D

I have the heavy set and I love them I set it so that it just barely hold the throttle and leave it on all the time . Whoever I have noticed on very hot days the grip will actually swell so that the lock will get tighter but it is no big deal . I loveit and highly recomend them . Easy to install just like bar ends.

...I'm still using my Flipmeisters 50 cent throttle lock. I'm not paying 150 bucks for something that my 50 cent modification emulates perfectly. I'll be more than happy to sell anyone a couple of washers and a set of easy to follow instructions for say, 25 bucks (to cover shipping & handling and my 12 pack because it's hard work packing stuff up).:D

Unless you're going down the full-electronic route (there's posts how to do this),
I'd second Flip's suggestion.

I have the throttlemeister and it's not worth the money.

$0.50 and some time as opposed to $150.00+.... no contest!

Do not go to the Triumph shop in Nashville as they will not sell you the washers, remember Flip?

Scot, yeah, wasn't that something? Something about liability. What would they have said if he said he only wanted a couple of washers?
