Thanks for the offer Ian. I got the special sockets in a bunch of Triumph tools I bought on eat-me-bay a couple years ago. Scored so big I felt sorry for the seller. Got the 2 sockets, clutch hub holder, alternator rotor puller, cam sprocket holder, and another large wrench with two pins sticking out for holding something inside the engine for $18.00. NOBODY bid on it. The ***** about having tools is then you have to fix stuff.
My splines were dry as a bone as well, I had the service guy check it out when I got my tires mounted today. At least I got to them fairly early. Maybe that will extend their lifespan a tad.
If the splines are screwed how is the female counterpart in the final drive? There is a guy selling one on the dotcom site for $400 supposedly brand new.
