sounds like fuel pump not running did you check fuel pump relay?
could run fuel pump test in TuneECU if you have it

OR... leave the bike off for a few minutes, open the fuel cap and shine a light in (not a naked flame lol). when you switch on ignition, fuel pump should whirr (prime) and you'll see fuel moving out the front of the assembly

That happened to me on a BMW a few years ago, and the fuel pump had to be replaced. Given the year of your R3, I wouldn't be surprised. Hopefully, it's a fuse or something more simple. Good luck, and sorry that we couldn't help out some more.

Hmmm....if the tank was near empty, the fuel pump would be hot especially if well worn. When splashed with nice cool gasoline the pump then fails. Common mode of if in tank pump death.

Might try switching the fuel pump relay with the fan relay (I think they are the same) and see if the swapped relay will fire up the pump. If it does then you need a new (or cleaned up) relay. If not, probably a new pump or wiring problem.

Thanks everyone. I've had to step away from it for a bit.

It's a brand new battery now, supposedly fully charged OOB, but it's been on the charger overnight. Still no go. Between me and my tenant, we have 4 motorcycles, 2 cars and a pickup on the property. All of them dim or blank the headlights when starting.

I checked all the fuses as soon as it happened, but I didn't check the relay. I'll try the fan relay swap and see what it does.

Also, I never got a cable to hook up the tune ecu, the PO had one, but lost it. I'm new to this level of tech in bikes - heck, it's my first FI bike - but I'm computer literate. Where does one get the cable and software?
